This is Timmy Mathis, Hometown News Correspondent (HNC) with the Holly Springs Sun, reporting for Troop 1715.  On July 26, 2010, Troop 1715 from Holly Springs will be leaving for Fort AP Hill in Virginia for the 100th National BSA Jamboree.

Our Scoutmaster, Bill Piazza is quoted as saying, "On Monday morning we will proudly step into that history.  After a day of hard work to set up our camp we will share more than a week of fellowship and fun celebrating 100 years of Boy Scouts of America with tens of thousands of Scouts and leaders from all over the country.  We'll return with memories that will have us talking about this event for decades to come."

The Silver Troop consists of five patrols.

The Leader group has Scoutmaster Bill Piazza, First Asst. Scoutmaster Rob McMichael, Second Asst. Scoutmaster Dan Colglazier, Third Asst. Scoutmaster Mike Warnick, Senior Patrol Leader Jonathan Boggs, Asst. SPL Michael Cuffney, Quartermaster Ted Pride and Troop Scribe Lee Whitley.

The Radioactive Penguins Patrol consists of William Baker, Kendall Breivogel, Joseph Caswell, Alex Clark, Christian Colglazier, Tim Mathis, Elijah Mebans and Shawn Riley.

The Flaming Sharks Patrol is made up of John Bell, Ty Brittain, Will Gantt, Tom Gray, Sam Seidenstricker, Alex Wagner, Chris Wagner and Aaran Bolden.

The Purple Platypi Patrol has Will Benfield, Paul Thomas Kenney, Kurtis Konrad, Jared Lee, Nicholas Meyer, Pasquale Diclemente, Hunter Edge and Joe Lally.

The Frying Squirrels Patrol is made up of Lawson Benfield, Ryan Biegert, Carl Coglazier, David Hagan, David Huie, Duncan Ozturk, Jonathan Schertz and Austin Edge.

We have worked hard preparing for these next 10 days at the Jamboree.  We are looking forward to meeting new people, earning new merit badges and celebrating 100 years of scouting in America. I will try hard to report all the new and exciting events from the Jamboree.  Stay Tuned...
