A tribute for Sandy Hook
Holly Springs resident, Michelle McElroy, created a luminary tribute to the 26 victims in Newtown, Conn. As an artist, and a childhood friend of 6-year-old Benjamin Wheeler’s mother, McElroy felt the need to use her skills to create a lighted art installation in the shape of a heart on her front lawn. Since it was installed on Christmas Eve, hundreds of cars have driven by the display. Her mission was for people to remember the victims and their families during the holidays and start of the New Year.

This fisherman on Durham Creek is in a well-equipped kayak that is operated with foot power. He also seems to be well endowed with safety equipment even though these waters are relatively protected. Kayaks are ideal to fish from in these waters.
