DAR recognizes outstanding students

Six area students have been recognized for their outstanding achievement by the Yates Mill Chapter of the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Receiving the Good Citizens Award based on Dependability, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism to an outstanding degree are: * Emily Bryant, Athens Drive High, Raleigh * Rachel Gibson, Middle Creek High, Apex * Cody Cordero, Holly Springs High, Holly Springs * Rishi Simha, Green Hope High, Cary * Robert Duncan, Cary Christian High, Cary * Michael Marion, Panther Creek High, Cary. The students were chosen to represent their schools by their faculty, said Good Citizens Award chairman Mary Daum, and will compete on the state level. Established in 1934 by the National Society DAR, the DAR Good Citizens Award is nationally recognized. The winner of the North Carolina Society DAR Good Citizens Award moves on to the regional level and then to the national level.
