Just 4 Kids launches their fall consignment sale Oct. 4-6 at the Life Spring Community Church in Fuquay-Varina. Holly Springs residents and long-time friends Teresa Bozzano and Jacqui Fields have been hard at work preparing for this latest sale, which has become a semi-annual event that local families look forward to.

The sale helps the entire community by providing a way for families to buy and sell good quality clothing and items for their kids. Many of the consignors do all their seasonal shopping, buying everything their children need for the summer or fall while selling what their kids have outgrown.

Each sale, Just 4 Kids finds worthy local causes to support. In the past, they have worked with local schools, pregnancy crisis centers, food banks, literacy programs, local churches, battered women’s shelters, and foster care support organizations.

Last fall, they donated coats, scarves, hats and mittens to the Holly Grove Elementary P.T.A.’s winter coat drive. These items stayed right here in the Holly Springs community to help local children.

The Just 4 Kids family was touched last year by cancer . After spending many hours at Duke Hospital, Jacqui and Teresa saw a need in the “family rooms” of the ninth floor, oncology wing. These family rooms are places where relatives can sit in comfy seats and wait to visit, await news, meet with counselors, or catch up on much needed rest. The rooms have magazines, board games, paperbacks, and games for the little ones who might be visiting.

During the spring sale, Just 4 Kids collected two van loads of supplies for the friends at Duke. This fall they will be collecting donations again. Items they will be collecting include: new craft supplies, coloring books, PS2 games, DVDs, craft kits, glue sticks, markers, etc. The craft supplies need to be new due to the risk of infection to the children. They will also take your used magazines or paperbacks for the waiting areas in the hospital. Just bring them to the sale and they will take care of the rest. There will be a bin at the sale dedicated to collecting these items. So, as you are going through your kids’ rooms for items to sell, keep this project in mind. If enough is collected, Just 4 Kids will spread these items throughout the hospital, Duke Children’s Hospital and other floors that could use these items as well.

Just 4 Kids introduced two major new things during last fall’s sale: a new computer software system and acceptance of credit cards. The new system allowed consignors to track their sales throughout the week and estimate their earnings. This new system allows for printed itemized receipts for customers who need them. Consignors also can use the system to keep track of what sold and what items were left at the end.

Accepting credit cards allows shoppers to use debit cards and reward programs through their credit card companies. It also gives them more convenience while shopping. This allowed preschools and daycares to use their corporate cards.

The sale is located at Life Spring Community Church, 501 Wake Chapel Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC
