My credit card company offers a reward points system. For every dollar I spend, I get reward points for merchandise, cash back and cool things. As I told you before, my husband and I believe in paying off our credit card every month so we don’t get charged interest. We also believe in only having one credit card in our name. However, we are huge believers in the rewards points system.
For example, I have had the same credit card for several years. Until last year, I never touched my reward points. This came in quite handy. When our television died, I was able to use all my reward points and purchase a new flat screen LCD television for free. Since that time, I have not touched my reward points. We are planning an upcoming vacation and don’t have a navigation system to help direct us to our destination. We once again were able to use our credit card reward points to get a Garmin system for free.
I am a firm believer in checking into credit cards that offer reward points. Remember, only have one credit card, pay it off every month and sit on your reward points for awhile until you need it for really big purchases. It will save you lots of money in the long run.
