Recently, my daughter and I took a trip to an amusement park. When researching the amusement park, we discovered that we could bring backpacks and we could bring in our own snacks. This literally saved my family a bundle on food.

Before heading to the park, my family packed a picnic lunch and placed it into the book bag. We packed sandwiches, drinks and snacks, which helped us survive throughout the day. Immediately entering the park, I realized how much money my family did save by packing our own items.

The day my daughter and I went was extremely hot. I noticed a lot of people throughout the park had cool iced drinks. When checking the price of the drinks, my mouth hit the ground. The amusement park wanted more than $7 for a small iced drink. That one drink almost cost more than my entire book bag of snacks. When traveling to amusement parks, I would strongly recommend bringing your own snacks. Even if you can’t take them into the park with you, I would recommend keeping them in the car and having a picnic lunch in the parking lot. It can save you a small fortune in the long run.

I also recommend bringing your own camera. Throughout the park, I had several photographers offer to take pictures of my child. However, to get the picture I was looking at paying the photographers more than $15. I brought my own camera and took the same quality photo and didn’t pay a dime for the fun memories.
