Help Prevent Child Abuse SAFEchild, a child abuse prevention agency in Wake County, needs volunteers to present a one hour, interactive and engaging presentation to first grade students in Wake County schools to teach them the skills they need to protect themselves from abuse. Volunteers needed Interact’s Pass It On thrift store, 309 South Main St., Fuquay-Varina, is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to work as sorters and cashiers. Pass It On sells high quality, gently used women’s and children’s clothing at low prices. Proceeds from sales at Pass It On support counseling services for victims of domestic violence and rape/sexual assault at Interact’s Southern Wake Outreach Center. Myasthenia Gravis Support Group Our goal is to provide an informal atmosphere for family and friends of MG patients to meet, have a meal, share experiences and provide outreach to newly diagnosed Myasthenia Gravis patients. Meetings will be in a rural area adjacent to Hwy. 42 and Hwy 401 near Fuquay. The location is centrally located between Raleigh, Research Triangle and Fayetteville. Other towns within a one hour drive include Durham, Chapel Hill, Sanford, Clayton, Smithfield and Dunn. Meetings will be held on the first Saturday of each month at 12 noon. Fuquay Magnolias The Fuquay Magnolias, a local Red Hat Society group, is accepting new members.
