Students at Holly Ridge Middle School were selected for the North Carolina Honors Chorus. On Nov. 7 and 8, Holly Ridge Middle School eighth graders Katrina Bootes, Allen Botwick, and Daniel Savoy traveled with their choral teacher, Mrs. Kay Kennedy, to Winston Salem to perform as part of the North Carolina Music Educator’s Association. With only 150 chosen out of the nearly 1500 students who auditioned – this was quite an honor.

One parent commented that the performance was “awe inspiring” and the sign of a growing tradition of choral excellence in Holly Springs. “Holly Ridge Middle School is well known for its participation year after year in the NC State Honors Chorus. We have had the privilege and honor to speak with teachers and students from all over North Carolina who attest to this fact.”

In addition to Bootes, Botwick, and Savoy, five other Holly Ridge students also earned the right to audition for the North Carolina Honors Chorus: Talia Rodriguez, Hannah Siarto, Kadia King, and Mary Kate McCann. Congratulations to all of these talented students!
